Eden, NC - It is with profound sorrow that we announce the death of Mrs. Addie Lee Gravely Hale 94 of 705 Rainey Court, Eden, North Carolina. She passed away on Sunday, June 07, 2026, at her residence.
Addie, the beloved daughter of the late Patty Ray Gravely was born on January 11, 1932; in Rockingham County (Leaksville), North Carolina. She was raised in the Moyer Township surrounded by family and friends; where she attended Douglas High School. Addie later moved to West Virginia to live with her mother, where she met and married the love of her life, Issac House Hale, Sr., and to their union they had eleven children. After her husband’s coal mining career Addie moved back to Rockingham County (Eden), North Carolina (Blue Creek Community). Addie continued to raise her children along with working part-time at Sealtest and Grill and numerous years at Spray Cotton Mills, where she retired as a winder and a spinner.
In 2001 she joined and became a faithful member of Greater Bibleway church in Eden, North Carolina; where she served as an usher. Addie never met a stranger so serving as an usher with great honor when greeting the members and guests that attend their church services. Her children will always remember her teaching moment “If you can not say anything good do not say anything.” She loved the Lord and going to the surrounding churches that she was the “Church Mother” of Shaw Christian Church in Eden, North, Carolina until her health declined.
In addition to her mother, Addie was preceded in death by her husband Issac House Hale, Sr.; her son James Hale, her grandson Joel “Joe” Hale; her sister Carleen Marie “Luv” Cabbell.
Mrs. Addie Lee Gravely Hale leaves to cherish her memories with her children Hazel Griffin of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Mary Katherine Hale, Sallie Ruth Hale, Shirley Terry, Patty Hampton, and Addie Sue Hale, Issac Hale, Jr., and Robert Hale all of Eden, North Carolina; 31 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; her two nieces Thelma Sonnier (Sherman) of Conroe, Texas, and LouAnn Adams of Martinsville, Virginia; and a host of other loving relatives, and many cherished friends.
A Public viewing for Mrs. Addie Lee Gravely Hale will be on Saturday, June 13, 2026; from 4:00p.m. to 7:00p.m. at Fulton-Walton Funeral Home & Memorial Chapel of Eden; 417 Price Street, Eden, NC.
A Family visitation viewing for Mrs. Addie Lee Gravely Hale will be on Sunday, June 14, 2026; from 12:30p.m. to 1:00p.m. at United in Christ Ministries, in Eden, NC.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Addie Lee Gravely Hale will be conducted at 1:00pm on Sunday, June 14, 2026; at United in Christ Ministries, in Eden, NC.
Interment will follow at Hamlin Cemetery in Eden, NC.
