Pelham, NC - It is with profound sorrow that we announce the death of Mrs. Diane Brown Mims 79 of 3746 Allison Road, Pelham, North Carolina. She departed her earthly life and entered eternal rest on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at her residence.
Diane was born on March 24, 1946, in Caswell County, North Carolina, the youngest daughter of the late Banks E. Brown and Lillie Graves Brown.
Diane was educated in the Caswell County Public School system. She was a loving housewife who enjoyed cooking, cleaning, and taking care of her beloved children. She was known as, “Demp” by her relatives and friends. She was a friendly, compassionate person who loved people and who never met a stranger.
Diane became a member of New Ephesus Missionary Baptist Church in Ruffin, North Carolina at an early age. She assisted her sister Viola in the kitchen during special services and events whenever support was needed.
Diane, in addition to her parents, was predeceased by four sisters, Marietta B. Moyer, Margaret Turner, Mable Clark and Fannie Swift; four brothers, Floyd E. Brown, Sr., Arthur W. Brown, Dewey Brown and Walter D. Brown; one grandson, Devonte Mims; one sister-in-law, Zadie Bell Holloway and one brother-in-law, Billy Mims.
Diane Brown Mims leaves to cherish her precious memories with her devoted husband Bobby Mims of the residence; her daughter Annie Marie Mims of Winchester, Virginia; her two sons Eric Mims and Bobby Mims, Jr., both of Greensboro, NC; her two sisters Viola B. Madkins of Ruffin, NC and Lillie B. Patterson of Danville, Virginia; her three brothers Deacon Willie B. Brown (Elaine) of Reidsville, NC, Alfred L. Brown (Yvonne) of Greensboro, NC, and William H. Brown (Elsie) of Brown Summit, NC; her three granddaughters Jasmine Mims, Jazmere M. Wilkerson (James), and Alexis M. Mims; her two grandsons Eric Mims, Jr., and JaMarion Mims; her five sisters-in-law Anna Lee Brown, Barbara Brown, Anna Marie Graves (George), Sally Henderson (Melvin), and Paulette Holloway; and a host nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Public viewing for Mrs. Diane Brown Mims will be on Saturday, February 07, 2026; from 2:00p.m. to 7:00p.m. in the John and Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
Family visitation for Mrs. Diane Brown Mims will be on Sunday, February 08, 2026; from 1:30p.m. to 2:00p.m. at New Ephesus Baptist Church, in Ruffin, NC.
Funeral service for Mrs. Mrs. Diane Brown Mims will be conducted at 2:00p.m. on Sunday, February 08, 2026, at New Ephesus Baptist Church, in Ruffin, NC. Pastor Lamar Boykins will deliver the “Words of Comfort”.
Interment will follow at New Ephesus Baptist Church Cemetery in Ruffin, NC.
