Mrs. Eva Brooks Foster

Yanceyville, NC - It is with profound sorrow that we announce the death of Mrs. Eva Brooks Foster of 819 Blackwell Road, Yanceyville, NC. She passed away on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at Ancora Compassionate Care Hospice Home in Reidsville, NC.

Born on June 14, 1934, Eva was the beloved daughter of the late Mr. Everette Brooks, Sr. and Mae Sue Withrow Brooks in Shelby, North Carolina; where she attended Cleveland County Public Schools.

Afterwards, Eva broadened her horizons by moving to Morristown, New Jersey, where she was employed at Greystone Park Psychiatric Hospital. Once relocating back to North Carolina, Eva was employed at Fieldcrest Cannon in Eden, North Carolina as a Machine Operator until retirement.

Being a woman of faith and integrity, she was an active member of Mineral Springs Missionary Baptist Church, where she faithfully served as an Usher, Choir Member, and on the Culinary Committee. She was an avid baker and a proud member of several bowling leagues throughout her life.

In addition to her parents, and her beloved husband, Deacon John D. Foster, Sr.; Eva was preceded in death by one daughter, Cassandra Denise Foster Johnson; three sons, Dean Brooks, John D. Foster, Jr., and Reuben Leon Foster; three sisters, Shirley Brooks, Sarah Lewis, and Hazel Brun Kaysen; one brother, Charles Brooks.

She leaves to cherish her memories two daughters, Bernadette Foster of Hampton, VA and Sheronda Verner of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; one son, Harlan Foster (Lorraine) of Pelham, NC; 10 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren; one brother, Everett Brooks, Jr. of San Francisco, California, three sisters-in-law, Barbara Redding, Norma Foster, and Loretta Foster all of Yanceyville, NC; and a host of other relatives, and friends whose lives she touched.

A Public viewing for Mrs. Eva Brooks Foster will be on Saturday, June 29, 2024; from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the John and Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral Home.

A Family visitation viewing for Mrs. Eva Brooks Foster will be on Sunday, June 30, 2024; from 1:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Mineral Springs Baptist Church, in Pelham, NC.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Eva Brooks Foster will be conducted at 2:00pm on Sunday, June 30, 2024, at Mineral Springs Baptist Church, in Pelham, NC.

Interment will follow at Blackwell Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Yanceyville, NC.
