Yanceyville, NC - It is with profound sorrow that we announce the death of Mrs. Kaylene Willis Linster 68, of 332 Country Road Yanceyville, North Carolina. She passed away on Friday, May 22, 2026, at Annie Penn Memorial Hospital in Reidsville, North Carolina.
Kaylene, affectionately known as “Cakie” was born on March 15, 1958, to the late James Willis and Lillian Turner Willis in Caswell County, North Carolina. She was educated in the Caswell County school system and graduated from Barlett Yancey Senior High School in 1978.
Kaylene was employed in the health care industry as a Certified Nursing Assistant for many years providing care for those in need. She was a true caregiver at heart and continued to care for several family members even after her retirement. She had an unwavering love and dedication for her family and close friends. Kaylene had a smile that could light up a room and a sense of humor to match. You always knew when she was present because everyone in the room was laughing.
Kaylene married her high school sweetheart the late Kennis Wiley, and their union was blessed with two children, Kenneth Lamont and Krystal. Kaylene married her soulmate Thomas Linster, III on August 21, 1999. They shared 26 years of joy, happiness and laughter. They found the key to love, and it stayed unbreakable until the end. They made a promise to each other that when Gabriel blows his horn they will meet again at the pearly gates.
Kaylene was preceded in death by her parents James and Lillian Willis; her first husband Kennis Wiley; her three sisters Julia Florence Southern, Lucille Crisco and Bessie Graves; two brothers James Willis and Percy Willis; her in-laws Thomas and Julia Linster; and her two brother in-laws Darryl Linster and Jerome Linster.
Kaylene leaves to cherish her memory with her husband, Thomas Linster of the home, her loving daughter, Krystal “Shelly” Wiley of Reidsville, NC and her devoted son, Kenneth Lamont Wiley-Willis (Melissa) of Pelham, NC; six grandchildren, GEKayla, Sincere, Lamont Jr., Kaylissa, Ketean, Uriah and six great-grandchildren, GEKyng, Roman, Kynley, Ghakari, Embree, Royalty; four sisters Lillian Ossie Dean Cobb of Yanceyville, NC; Thelma Lea (Emmanuel) of Mebane, NC; Elsie Price of Yanceyville, NC; and Jennifer Southern Gwynn(Tony) of Yanceyville, NC; and two brothers, John Willis(Sophia) of Yanceyville, NC and Hurley Willis(Janie) of Blanch, NC; three sister in laws Tammy Williamson of Hillsborough, NC, Sharon Linster, Haw River, NC and Debra Williams (Wardell) of Reidsville, NC; a Special Aunt Billie Travis of Walnut Cove, NC; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends who will forever treasure the impact she made in their lives.

A Public viewing for Mrs. Kaylene Willis Linster will be on Thursday, May 28, 2026; from 2:00p.m. to 7:00p.m. in the John and Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Kaylene Willis Linster will be conducted at 1:00pm on Friday, May 29, 2026; at Blackwell Missionary Baptist Church, in Yanceyville, NC.
Interment will follow at Willis Family Cemetery in Yanceyville, NC.
