Mrs. Linda Faye Royster Johnson Obituary

Danville, VA. - It is with profound sorrow that we announce the death of Mrs. Linda Faye Royster Johnson of 1059 Franklin Turnpike in Danville, Virginia. She passed away on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

Linda was born on February 22, 1960, to Edith Farmer Royster and the late Ivie Lewis Royster in Danville, Virginia.

She attended the local public schools and graduated from Bartlett Yancey Senior High School, Class of 1978 in Yanceyville, North Carolina. Linda furthered her education by attending Bennett College a private historically black liberal arts college for women in Greensboro, North Carolina. She pursued her career in the textile industry as a weaver; working and retiring from Burlington Industries in North Carolina and Dan River Mills in Danville, Virginia.  

Spiritually, Linda was a former member of Word of Faith Church in Milton, North Carolina, where she faithfully served for many years as a missionary along with being a leader of the children and youth choirs. Following God’s leading Linda joined and became a member of Kingdom of Christ Apostolic Fellowship Church in Greensboro, North Carolina; where she continued her calling as a missionary and singing in the choir. Linda was also a founding member of the Gospel Messengers.

In addition to her father Linda was preceded in death by her sister Barbara Stewart.

Mrs. Linda Faye Royster Johnson leaves to cherish her memory with her devoted husband and love of her life Keith L. Johnson; her two daughters Jaquia Johnson, and Jamie Johnson; her two sons Darrius Johnson, and Shawn Woods; all of Danville, Virginia; her sister Annette Clayborne of Milton, North Carolina; her brother Jimmy Royster (Elder Sharon); and her god-daughter Kenisha Chandler all of Danville, Virginia; her eight grandchildren Logan, Greyson, Levi, and Ashston Rodgers, Zahyire, Destiny, Kaidyn, and Sanarah Woods; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many other cherish friends.

Family may receive visitors at the residence daily from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm and 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

Public viewing for Mrs. Linda Faye Royster Johnson will be on Sunday, November 16, 2025; from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the John and Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral Home.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Linda Faye Royster Johnson will be conducted at 1:00pm on Monday, November 17, 2025, at New Hope Apostolic Church, in Danville, Virginia.

Interment will follow at Highland Burial Park in Danville, Virginia.
