Mrs. Margaret Bigelow Mitchell

Burlington, NC - It is with profound sorrow that we announce the death of Mrs. Margaret Bigelow Mitchell 77, formerly of Burlington, NC, who departed this life on Saturday, February 24, 2024; at Bayhealth Hospital in Dover, Delaware. 

Margaret was a native of Caswell County, North Carolina, and the daughter of the late Hollis Bigelow, Sr., and Mary Fuller Bigelow, born on December 5, 1946. 

She was educated through the Caswell County Schools and was a Graves Chapel Baptist Church member.   

Margaret was an Executive Director for the "After School and Summer Program" at First Reformed Church in Mt. Vernon, New York. She was also employed with General Motors as an assembly line worker and later was a Quality Specialist in Smithfield, North Carolina before retirement.

In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her loving husband: Mr. King Mitchell; her two brothers: Willard Bigelow and Hollis Bigelow; her sister: Clarice Poole, and her grandson: Justin Vester.

Mrs. Margaret Bigelow Mitchell leaves to cherish her memories to her son: John Vester of Mt. Vernon, New York; her two daughters: Sharron Vester of Dover, Delaware, and Jonece Davidson of Columbia SC; her two sisters: Judy Corbett of Yanceyville, NC, and Janet Royal (Ralph)of Greensboro, NC; her two brothers: Ervin Bigelow (Geneva), of Yanceyville NC, and Kenneth Bigelow (Coretta) of Winston Salem, NC;  8 grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; other relatives; and friends.

A public viewing for Mrs. Margaret Bigelow Mitchell will be Friday, March 15, 2024; from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the John and Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral.

A family visitation for Mrs. Margaret Bigelow Mitchell will be Saturday, March 16, 2024; from 1:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Graves Chapel Baptist Church, in Yanceyville, NC.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Margaret Bigelow Mitchell will be conducted at 2:00 pm Saturday, March 16, 2024; at Graves Chapel Baptist Church, in Yanceyville, NC.

Interment will follow in Graves Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery, 5373 Badgett Sisters Pkwy, Yanceyville, NC 27379
