Mrs. Ruth Chandler Lawson

Yanceyville, NC - It is with profound sorrow that we announce the death of Mrs. Ruth Chandler Lawson 77 of 6355 NC Highway 86 South Yanceyville, North Carolina. She passed away on Monday, June 15, 2026, at her residence.

Ruth, the beloved daughter of the late Abraham Chandler and Ethel Brooks Chandler, was born on June 25, 1948; in Caswell County, North Carolina.

She attended the local public schools, and Ruth later received her General Education Diploma (GED) at Piedmont Community College in Roxboro, North Carolina.

Ruth pursued her career in the textile industry where she worked for the third-largest sock producer in the United States. She was employed at Gold Toe Brands Incorporated in Burlington, North Carolina prior to her retirement.

She was a member of Sassafras Grove Baptist Church in Yanceyville, North Carolina. Ruth was also a member of the Eastern Star Leasburg Chapter, where she believed in helping her community through charitable and educational endeavors.

In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her two sisters Dorothy Robinson, and Shirley Ann McGhee; her four brothers James Chandler, Frank Chandler, Abraham Chandler, and Hubert Chandler.

Mrs. Ruth Chandler Lawson leaves to cherish her memories with her son Gregory Lawson Sr. of Yanceyville, North Carolina; her three grandchildren Gregory Lawson Jr. (Shanetta) of Milton, North Carolina, Brianna Lawson of Matthews, North Carolina, and Kwamine Lawson of; Oxford, North Carolina; her four great-grandchildren; her two sisters Susie Graves of Reidsville, North Carolina, and Bertha Richmond of Leasburg, North Carolina; her three brothers Lorenzo Chandler (Clara) of Greensboro, North Carolina, Robert Chandler (Rosa) of Reidsville, North Carolina, and Ralph Chandler of Saxaphaw, North Carolina; and a host of other loving relatives, and many cherished friends.

A Public viewing for Mrs. Ruth Chandler Lawson will be on Sunday, June 21, 2026; from 4:00p.m. to 6:00p.m. in the John and Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral Home & Cremation Services.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Ruth Chandler Lawson will be conducted at 12:00noon on Monday, June 22, 2026; at Sassafras Grove Baptist Church in Yanceyville, NC.

Interment will follow at Sassafras Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Yanceyville, NC.
