Yanceyville, NC - It is with profound sorrow that we announce the transition of Mrs. Saint Clara Gunn Robinson of Yanceyville, North Carolina, who peacefully departed this life on August 19, 2024, at Yanceyville Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. Born on June 1, 1925, to the late Robert Gunn, Sr. and Pernella Graves Gunn, Saint Clara lived a life marked by dedication, faith, and service.
Mrs. Saint Clara was united in holy matrimony to the late David C. Robinson, with whom she shared many cherished years. She was a proud graduate of the Caswell County Training School, and she later became a licensed Cosmetologist. For an astounding 75 years, Mrs. Saint Clara began serving her community as a skilled hairdresser at Murrill’s Beautirama, and later retired from Shaunell's Hair Loft; where her warm spirit and exceptional talent left an indelible mark on all who knew her.
A devoted member of Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church, Mrs. Saint Clara’s life was a testament to her Baptist faith. She served faithfully as the recording secretary, graced the senior choir with her melodious voice, and contributed her time and energy to the missionary circle. Her unwavering commitment to the church and her community exemplified her servant's heart and deep love for others.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Saint Clara was preceded in death by her beloved husband, David C. Robinson; two sisters, Gladys Gunn Bigelow and Nettie Florence Bigelow; and one brother, Robert Gunn Jr.
She leaves to cherish her memories, one devoted niece, Gwendolyn Bigelow Harrell (Roy) of Pelham, NC, and one loving nephew, Charles “Skipper” Bigelow (Laquetta) of Burlington, NC. She also leaves behind her niece, Ygerne Robinson of Alexandra, VA; two nephews, David Robinson (Joy) of Dale City, VA, and Kevin Robinson (Rhinauda) of Washington, DC; a sister-in-law, Clara Robinson of Oxon Hill, MD; and a host of other relatives, friends, and clients whose lives she touched with her kindness, wisdom, and grace.
As we mourn the loss of Mrs. Saint Clara, comfort and strength are found in the Holy Scriptures:
"For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many." - Mark 10:45
"Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted." - Matthew 5:4
"The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." - Psalm 34:18
Mrs. Saint Clara Gunn Robinson will be greatly missed, but her legacy of love, service, and faith will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
