Semora, NC - Sharon Yvette Southern Stewart departed this life on July 15, 2024, at her residence in Semora, NC. She was born June 29, 1964, to the late Ollie Southern and Inez Southern in Pittsylvania County Va.
She professed Christ at an early age and joined the Hamer Missionary Baptist Church and was a former member of the community chorus. She received her education in the public school system of Caswell County.
Sharon was married to Sherman Stewart and entered into a blended family of kids and grandchildren, being a native of Caswell County and spending her lifetime there, Sharon met many people and was always the “life of the party”.
She was preceded in death by her father, Ollie Southern and brother James “Moon” Swanson.
Her loved ones that are left to cherish her memory are her husband Sherman Stewart of the home, mother Inez Southern of Milton NC, one son Shaun Southern of Milton NC, eight stepchildren, Andrea Brown (Otis) of Danville Va, Kelly Stewart of Maryland, Antoine Hall of Danville VA, Sherman Stewart Jr of Milton NC, Shevron Slayton of South Carolina, Travis McGhee of Semora NC, Tariq Henderson of Yanceyville, NC and Sherrod Stewart of Yanceyville NC, three grandsons: Kristopher Southern of Roxboro NC, Jaymir Southern of Milton NC, and Don-Tazion Royster of Leasburg, NC. Three sisters Sandra Echols(Melvin) of Blanch NC, Barbara Moore (Felton) of Anderson NC, Angela Southern of Milton NC and one brother Julius Swanson (Sharon) of Danville VA.
The family wishes to acknowledge the following: Special nephew, Jayceon Scott; Special Friends, Denita George and Barbara Lawson.
Other loved ones mourning her loss are a host of in-laws, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Public viewing for Mrs. Sharon Yvette Southern Stewart will be Thursday, July 18, 2024; from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the John and Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral Home.
Funeral services for Mrs. Sharon Yvette Southern Stewart will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Friday, July 19, 2024; at Hamer Missionary Baptist Church, with Pastor Daniel Elmore, delivering the words of comfort.
