Mrs. Shelia Diane Totten Williamson Obituary

Yanceyville, NC - Mrs. Shelia Diane Totten Williamson was born on June 2, 1955, to William “Bill” Totten and Virginia “Jenny” Miles Totten, and peacefully transitioned to her heavenly home on April 13, 2026 surrounded by her loving family.

At an early age, Shelia accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her Savior and became a devoted member of Yanceyville Missionary Baptist Church. Her faith was the foundation of her life, and she served her church with a willing heart in many roles, including church secretary, church clerk, Sunday School teacher, Vacation Bible School teacher, and Deaconess. She did not just serve, she poured love into everything and everyone she touched.

Shelia was educated in the Caswell County School System and graduated from Bartlett Yancey High School in 1973. She later attended Livingstone College from 1973 to 1974. After falling in love with her high school sweetheart, Shelia married Scott Williamson in August 1974. Together, they built a life rooted in love, commitment, and family, and were blessed with three daughters who became the pride and joy of her life.

In 1984, Shelia began her career at Piedmont Community College, where she faithfully served in the Admissions Office for 30 years before retiring. She was known for her dedication, kindness, and the way she made others feel seen and welcomed. While working full-time and raising her family, she remained determined to continue her education, earning her degree in Business Administration from Averett University in 1993, a testament to her strength, perseverance, and quiet determination.

Shelia was a formal member of Estelle Chapter #647 and connected to Allen's Chapter #529. She held offices of Past Worthy Matron, secretary and treasurer of Estelle #647. She was a dedicated member and loved her Chapter.

Shelia lived a life of service, love, and selflessness. She was the one people could always count on, the helper, the encourager, the steady presence. Whether through her gentle words, her acts of kindness, or simply being there, she made a lasting impact on everyone blessed to know her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William “Bill” Totten and Virginia “Jenny” Miles Totten; and her brothers, William David Totten, Irvin Murray, and sister Vanessa D. Totten.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories her devoted husband, Scott Williamson; her three daughters, Shernita Telfair (Ron), Sheree Hawkins (Rick), and Shelonda Williamson; and her five grandchildren, Roniya, Londyn, Landon, Liam, and Adonis, who brought her immense joy and love.

She is also survived by her siblings: Carl Miles, Vickie Hinton (Henri), Jerry Totten (Crystal), and Sherman Totten, her sister-in-law Tracy McLauren(Fred) and brother-in-law Kevin Taylor(Lisa); her aunts, Mary Lou Miles and Janie Belle Miles; her uncle, Fred B. Williamson, Jr.; along with her nephews and nieces: David Lamont Totten(Ericka), William Craig Totten(LaTesha),  Ariel and Carl Miles, Christian Hinton, Tiffany Clarke(Stephen), Ariel Wilson, Elijah and Chloe Totten, Chase and Nolan Clarke, Aaliyah and Angel Miles, Brandon and Bradley Taylor, Tahirah, Thanda and Jamell Newkirk, and Brittany Jones (Brandon). A host of cousins and dear friends who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.

Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in knowing that Shelia’s life was a beautiful reflection of love, faith, and service. Her legacy will live on through the lives she touched, the family she cherished, and the unwavering love she gave so freely. She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
