Mrs. Verus Miles Knight

Blanch, NC - It is with profound sorrow that we announce the death of Mrs. Verus Miles Knight of Blanch, North Carolina. She received her angel wings on Monday, June 2, 2025, at AuthoraCare Hospice Home in Burlington, North Carolina.

Verus, daughter of the late John Miles and Lula Bell Garland Miles, was born on November 9, 1933, in Caswell County, North Carolina.

She received her formal education from the local public schools and was a graduate of Caswell County High School in Yanceyville, North Carolina. Verus furthered her career in Washington, D.C., as a Central Intelligence Agent (CIA), where she retired. When Verus returned to North Carolina, she became a faithful member of High Rock Baptist Church, where she served on the missionary circle. Her favorite pastimes were spending time with family, cooking, and growing beautiful flowers.

In addition to her parents, Verus was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Henry Knight, and two brothers, John and Joseph Miles.

Mrs. Verus Miles Knight leaves to cherish her memories her son, William Knight (Lisa) of Blanch, North Carolina; two daughters, Gloria Knight of Blanch, North Carolina, and Darlene Knight of Waldorf, Maryland; one brother, Earl Miles of Blanch, North Carolina; three brothers-in-law, Michael Knight (Joice), Cleveland Knight (JoAnne), and Cecil Knight (Alice); five sisters-in-law, Carolyn Mosley, Hannah Knight, Mildred Crowell, Karen Ellis (Michael), and Emmaline Williams; six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other loving relatives, and friends.

A public viewing for Mrs. Verus Miles Knight will be on Friday, June 06, 2025; from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the John and Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral Home.

A Family visitation viewing for Mrs. Verus Miles Knight will be on Saturday, June 07, 2025; from 1:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. at High Rock Baptist Church in Blanch, NC.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Verus Miles Knight will be conducted at 2:00pm on Saturday, June 07, 2025, at High Rock Baptist Church in Blanch, NC, where Reverend Henry Long will deliver the Words of Comfort.

Interment will follow at High Rock Baptist Church Cemetery in Blanch, NC.
