Mrs. Wanda Strange Jackson

Cascade, VA. - It is with profound sorrow we announce the death of Mrs. Wanda Jean Strange Jackson  of Decatur, Georgia, formerly of Cascade, Va., peacefully passed away on July 10, 2026, at Emory Hospital. She was 63 years old.

Born on June 10, 1963, Wanda was the beloved daughter of the late George Eddie Strange Jr. and Mary Adelaide Strange. She was a graduate of Tunstall High School and continued her education at Danville Community College, where she earned an Associate's Degree in Drafting and Design. She also attended Old Dominion University and later earned an Associate of Applied Science in Computer Programming from DeKalb Technical Institute. Wanda went on to build a successful career as a dedicated tax professional, serving her clients with knowledge, integrity, and care.

For more than 20 years, Wanda shared a special bond with her best friend and devoted companion, Charles Gay. She found great joy in watching sports, especially cheering for her favorite teams, and treasured the time she spent with her family and loved ones.

Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, George Eddie Strange Jr. and Mary Adelaide Strange, and her sister, Jenifer Walden.

She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted best friend, Charles Gay; her brother, Joel Strange of Decatur, Georgia; her sisters, Patricia Poteat (William) and Regenna London (Warren), both of Cascade, Virginia; along with a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends whose lives were touched by her kindness and love.

A Memorial Service celebrating Wanda's life will be held on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, 12:00 noon at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Cascade, VA. The family will receive friends during the visitation held prior to the service at 11:30 am.
