Mebane, NC - It is with profound sorrow that we announce the death of our beloved Ms. Catherine Brown Stadler age 81 of 5414 Burton Chapel Road, in Mebane, North Carolina. On Tuesday, January 20, 2026, she completed her earthly journey peacefully at Authora Care Hospice Home in Burlington.
Ms. Catherine Brown Stadler was the beloved daughter of the late Eulius Clifton Brown and Mary Bell Sellars Brown, born on May 12, 1944, in Caswell County, North Carolina.
As a native and lifelong resident, she attended local public schools and graduated from Caswell County Training School in Yanceyville, North Carolina. Catherine was an employee and retiree of Walter Kidde in Mebane, North Carolina. Her work ethics did not take away from Catherine being a skilled and talented homemaker and/or housewife to her husband the late Eddie Stadler and family, where she took pride in the overseeing of the day-to-day operations of her household.
She was a faithful member of Corbett Memorial Baptist Church in Pelham, North Carolina, where she was the chairperson of the culinary committee and a member of the adult choir–Family even spoke of her singing her gospel songs throughout the house as early as 4:00 in the mornings. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends as well as being their caregiver to those who needed it, shopping and dressing in the latest fashions. Catherine also had a passion for cooking, where her house was like Thanksgiving every day and no one went without food if she was around. The community knew Catherine for her famous potato salad and her beautiful and delicious cakes.
In addition to her parents, Catherine was preceded in death by her husband Eddie Stadler, her five sisters Annie Mae Brown Gunn, Lucille Brown Watlington, Sylvia Brown, Marjorie Brown Rollins, and Ruth Brown; and her two brothers Charlie “Cat” Brown and Elijah Brown.
Ms. Catherine Brown Stadler leaves to cherish her memories with her son Kenneth Stadler of the home; her sister Gloria Jean Brown Stadler (AL-Lee) of Tampa, Florida; and her brother Clifton Brown of Mebane, North Carolina; her two grandchildren Amara Stadler of Mechanicsville, Virginia and Brian Stadler of Chesterfield, Virginia; her three great-grand-children; her three great-grandchildren; and a host of other loving relatives, her church family, and many cherished friends. She will truly be missed for her love for people and way of making something out of nothing.
