Ms. Deanne Southern

Yanceyville, NC - It is with profound sorrow that we announce the death of Ms. Deanne Southern of 188 Murphy Street, Yanceyville, North Carolina. She departed this life on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at her residence.

Born on February 23, 1951, Deanne was the daughter of the late Lenora Hunt Southern and James Robert Southern in  Caswell County, North Carolina. Deanne attended the Caswell County Public School System. She became a devoted employee at Alexander Textiles Fabrics. Later Deanne joined the Ebenezer Baptist Church in Providence, North Carolina, where she was a choir member.

In addition to her parents, Deanne was preceded in death by her two sisters Onnie Mae Southern, and Jacqueline Maxine Southern, and her four brothers Henry Southern, John Southern, Robert Southern, and Donnie Southern.

Ms. Deanne “DeeCee” Southern leaves to cherish her loving memories with her loving daughter Patricia Currie (Ron) of Mebane, North Carolina; her one and only son Lawrence Southern along with her bonus nephew-son Anthony Southern both of Yanceyville, North Carolina; her four sisters Betty Southern, Trevia Farrish both of Yanceyville, North Carolina, Rita Farrish of Danville, Virginia, and Althea Farrish of Burlington, North Carolina; her two brothers, Quincey Farrish of Yanceyville, North Carolina, and Andy Farrish of Burlington, North Carolina; her three grandchildren Laquita Southern, Daryl Hamlett, and Darreall Hamlett (AKA Woo Woo); three great-grandchildren; five bonus grandchildren; three special nieces Joyce Southern, Betty Jean Southern, and Rolanda Wharten; a special aunt Minister Juanita Brim (Willie) of Milton, North Carolina; a great aunt Mary B. Adams of Danville, Virginia; her dear close friends Cynthia Wilson, Maddie Goodie, and Ella Stewart, and Meka Plunkett; and a host of nieces, nephews, other loving relatives, and cherished friends who will forever love and miss her.

Public viewing for Ms. Deanne Southern will be on Saturday, October 18, 2025; from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the John and Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral Home.

Family visitation viewing for Ms. Deanne Southern will be on Sunday, October 19, 2025; from 12:30 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the John and Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral Home.

Funeral Services for Ms. Deanne Southern will be conducted at 1:00pm on Sunday, October 19, 2025; in the John and Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral Home.

Interment will follow at Yanceyville Municipal Cemetery in Yanceyville, NC.
