Danville, Va. - It is with profound sorrow that we announce the death of Ms. Flossie Virginia Corbett 82 of 147 Pine View Drive, in Danville, Virginia. She passed away on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at Sovah Health in Danville, Virginia.
Flossie was the beloved daughter of the late Elbert Corbett, Sr., and the late Betty Glass Corbett in Mebane, North Carolina. She was born on February 27, 1943.
After graduating from the Caswell County public schools in1960, Flossie moved to New York to begin her career as a United States Postal Customer Service Manager, where she retired after 33 years of service. She was passionate and dedicated in ensuring delivering and collecting mail, selling postage, and providing customer service, and collaborating with staff to meet the customers' needs.
She dedicated her life to Jesus Christ at a young age where Flossie became a member of High Rock Baptist Church in Blanch, North Carolina; meanwhile in New York she attended several churches. She lived many years in Washington, DC and Clinton, Maryland after retirement. Flossie then relocated to Danville, Virginia and became a member of Sweet Gum Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Mebane, North Carolina.
Flossie completed her earthly journey peacefully joining her parents along with her son Curtis Jeffries and her six brothers Albert, Sandy, Elbert, Jr., Abraham, James, and Kenneth Corbett who proceeded her in death.
Ms. Flossie Virginia Corbett leaves to cherish her precious memories with her devoted daughter Dierdre Chaney of the home in Danville, Virginia; her two sons Kelvin Jeffries of Washington, DC; and Warner Lea of Rowland, North Carolina; her two grandchildren Terrence and Simone Henderson both of Danville, Virginia; her three sisters Rosa Sellars of Yanceyville, North Carolina, Christine Corbett of Hillsborough, North Carolina, and Joyce Robinson (John) of Mebane, North Carolina; and her brother Donnell Corbett (Loleta) of Whitsett, North Carolina; two aunts; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many cherished friends.
Family visitation viewing for Ms. Flossie Virginia Corbett will be on Thursday, January 08, 2026; from 1:00p.m. to 2:00p.m. at Sweet Gum Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Mebane, NC.
Funeral Services for Ms. Flossie Virginia Corbett will be conducted at 2:00pm on Thursday, January 08, 2026, at Sweet Gum Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Mebane, NC.
Interment will follow at Sweet Gum Grove Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Mebane, NC.
