Milton, NC - It is with profound sorrow that we announce the death of Ms. Jacqueline "Jackie" Garland Wade of 157 East Street, Milton, North Carolina.
“Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: He that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live” John 11:25
On Monday, January 13, 2025, the Lord in his infinite wisdom called home to rest one of his faithful servants, Sister Jacqueline “Jackie” Garland Wade at Hock Family Pavilion Hospice in Durham, North Carolina. She was born on July 23, 1956, in Milton, North Carolina to the late Ernestine and Joseph Garland.
At a very early age she decided to give her life to Christ and joined the High Street Baptist Church. There she worked diligently in many capacities until her health declined.
“Blessed are the peacemakers: For they shall be called the children of God.” Matthew 5:9
She received her formal education in the Caswell County public schools, graduating in 1974 from Bartlett Yancey High School. She spent 4 years in the military from 1979 until 1983. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree at Jacksonville State University in 1988. She retired from N. L. Dillard Middle School in 2023 after 20 years as a school bookkeeper and a payroll coordinator.

She was united in holy matrimony to Tony Tucker and to their union one son was born, Jeremy Tucker, who preceded her in death. One brother, Edward “Al” Garland who also preceded her in death. She leaves to cherish her precious memories to her beloved, two grandchildren, Shemia Fontaine of Danville, Virginia. and LaMonte Tucker of Talladega, Alabama; two brothers, Larry Garland (Diane) of Wake Forest, North Carolina and Reverend Jimmie Garland (Jane) of Clarksville, Tennessee; one sister, Betty House (Calvin) of Kittrell, North Carolina; a special sister-in-law, Reverend Gladys Garland of Milton, North Carolina; and a host of other relatives, and friends.

A viewing for Ms. Jacqueline "Jackie" Garland Wade will be on Thursday, January 16, 2025, from 2 PM to 7 PM in the John & Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral Home.
A Family visitation will be on Friday, January 17, 2025, from 12:30 pm to 1:00 pm at Macedonia AME Church before funeral service.
The Funeral service for Ms. Jacqueline "Jackie" Garland Wade will be on Friday, January 17, 2025, at 1:00 pm at Macedonia AME Church with Pastor Angel Lea, officiating.
Interment will follow in the Floral Hill Memory Gardens in Danville, Virginia.
