Ms. Janice Martin

Roanoke, VA. - It is with profound sorrow that we announce the death of                      Ms. Janice Martin of Roanoke, Virginia, formerly of Eden, North Carolina. She departed this life and made her farewell peaceful journey to heaven on Thursday, June 05, 2025, at Spring Tree Health and Rehabilitation Facility in Roanoke, Virginia.

Janice was born June 14, 1956, to the late Raymond Martin (Boot) and the late Elizabeth Martin (Nan). She received her education in Rockingham County School system. She was a devoted member of Back to Life Church under the leadership of Pastor Jay Hamm. Janice enjoyed a fulfilling career, retiring after many years of service. She dedicated a significant portion of her career to Spray Cotton Mills, and the City of Roanoke. Following her retirement, Janice’s passion for her work lead her to pursue several part-time positions, which she embraced with enthusiasm. She had a deep passion for softball, playing horseshoes, and she loved family gatherings.

Proceedings her in death are her parents Raymond and Elizabeth Martin; her sisters Charese Martin and                  Diane Clodfelter; her brothers Clarence, Raymond Jr., Ernest Lee, Kenneth Ray, Charles, Jimmy Lee, and George Earl Martin all of Eden, North Carolina and Michael Blackstock of Indianapolis.

Those who continue to cherish Janice’s memory and celebrate her life include her children Shirley Martin, Haywood Martin, all of Eden, North Carolina, Shawn Martin (Christie) of Reidsville, North Carolina; her sisters Mary Gaston of Roanoke, Virginia, Iris Graves of South, Carolina, Mae Wade, Sharon Millner, Mildred Clark Thompson both of Eden, North Carolina, and Gloria Martin of Fayetteville, North Carolina, ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two special nieces Teresa Zane Brown like a bonus daughter of Eden, North Carolina, and Ann Martin of Roanoke, Virginia; a special nephew Montez Martin; and a host of nieces, nephews, other loving relatives, and many cherished friends.

A public viewing for Ms. Janice Martin will be on Friday, June 13, 2025; from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Fulton-Walton Memorial Chapel, 417 Price Street, Eden, NC.

A Family visitation viewing for Ms. Janice Martin will be from 11:30 p.m. to 12noon on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at Fulton-Walton Memorial Chapel, 417 Price Street, Eden, NC

Funeral services for Ms. Janice Martin will be conducted at 12:00 noon, on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at Fulton-Walton Memorial Chapel, 417 Price Street, Eden, NC.

Interment will follow in Hairston Cemetery in Eden, NC.
