Blanch, NC - It is with profound sorrow that we announce the death of Ms. Lillie Mae Jeffries Clanton of 7022 Blanch Road, Blanch, North Carolina. She exchanged her earthly time for eternity on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at the home of her niece.
Lillie was born on August 09, 1937, in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Marshall and Geneva Williamson Jeffries. She was educated and graduated in 1956 from Caswell County Training School, Yanceyville, North Carolina.
Lillie loved the Lord, and she didn’t mind telling you how great God has been to her. She was very active in the church and helping people was the greatest gift to her.
Lillie moved to New York as a young woman where she worked as a Bank Teller for many years, there she met and married Aldious McCray. They were married for 26 years before his untimely death in 1986. Lillie owned and operated A Boutique in Danville for a few years, she always had a flare for fashion. She later moved back to North Carolina where she worked as an optical technician for 20 years and met her second husband Richard Clanton, Jr. they were married for 10 years before his untimely death in 2003. Lillie was a devoted member of New Millennium Christian Center in Greensboro, North Carolina where she served as Hospitality Committee and House of Rehab. She was known for her elegant and sophisticated style and one of her favorite words was “Wow”. She was deeply respected for her strong values and played the roles of mother, sister, sister-in-law, auntie and friend.
Lillie leaves to cherish precious and loving memories with a devoted niece Kimberly Jeffries of the home, two brothers Marshall Jeffries (Doris) of Milton, North Carolina, Floyd Jeffries of Danville, Virginia and two sisters Katie Stone of Milton and Sophia Robinson of Milton and a loving sister in love Hattie Jeffries of Burlington, North Carolina. A host of devoted nieces and nephews, cousins and close friends. In addition to her parents and husbands she was predeceased by her brother Curtis Jeffries.
A public viewing for Ms. Lillie Mae Jeffries Clanton will be on Saturday, March 22, 2025, from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the John and Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral Home.
Family visitation viewing for Ms. Lillie Mae Jeffries Clanton will be on Sunday, March 23, 2025; from 1:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at High Street Baptist Church, in Milton, NC.
Funeral services for Ms. Lillie Mae Jeffries Clanton will be conducted at 2:00pm on Sunday, March 23, 2025, at High Street Baptist Church, in Milton, NC. Pastor Wayne Robinson will deliver the Words of Comfort and Pastor Dr. Angel Lea, will be Presiding.
