Ms. Linda Durham

It is with profound sorrow that we announce the death of Ms. Linda Kay Durham 78 of 2559 US Highway 158 West, Yanceyville, North Carolina. She passed away on Monday, May 18, 2026, at her residence.

Linda, the beloved daughter of the late Dewey Bernard Durham, Sr., and Annie Lucille Stephens Durham, was born on July 01, 1947; in Danville, Virginia.

She attended the local public schools and was a graduate of Bartlett Yancey Senior High School, Class of 1965. Linda continued her education at Danville Community College, where she received her degree in the School of Dentistry.

Prior to retirement Linda dedicated much of her professional life to law as a legal secretary at Motley Law Firm in Danville, Virginia. She was an administrative professional who supported lawyers and legal professionals by managing tasks such as preparing legal documents, filing, and handling correspondence. Being skilled and talented Linda was previously employed at UNC School of Dentistry as a dental assistant in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, and an employee at Corning Glass and Dan River Mills both in Danville, Virginia.

Linda was a born-again Christian fulfilling her walk and love for the Lord as a faithful member of Community Baptist Church in Yanceyville, North Carolina. In her leisure time she was an avid writer, a loving caregiver to her parents, and a lover of spending time with her family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her daughter Connie Lynn Daniel Hutchins, her sister Pam Durham Silverman, her brother Dewey Bernard Durham, Jr., and her ex-husband David Michael Daniel whom she still embraced as family.

Ms. Linda Kay Durham leaves to cherish her memories with her daughter Kelly Daniel Routh Langford of Walnut, Illinois; her six grandchildren Bailey Lucille Routh, Richard Franklin Routh, Joshua Burson Routh, Brianna Lynn Turberville Massingale (Christopher), Megan Warren, and Dustin Warren; her four great-grandchildren Regan Massingale, Christopher Massingale, Jr., Peyton Hopper, and Paisley Hopper; her brother-in-law Paul Silverman of Durham, North Carolina; her niece Alexandra “Alex” Silverman Meyer (Garrett) and their children Olivia and Bryce Meyer, all of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, her nephew Jacob “Jake” Silverman (Jessica) and their son Nathaniel Silverman all of Atlanta, Georgia; and a host of other loving relatives, and many cherished friends.

Exodus 20:12:  “Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you.”
