Greensboro, NC - It is with profound sorrow that we announced the death of Ms. Lynnidia Gale Thornton of 1916 Phillips Avenue Apartment H in Greensboro, North Carolina. She passed away on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Lynnidia, the beloved daughter of the late John Thomas Thornton and Marrietta Wilkerson Thornton, was born on October 17, 1947; in Eden, North Carolina.

She attended the local Rockingham County public schools, where she continued her education in the healthcare industry. Lynnidia later pursued her career at Brian Center in Eden, North Carolina as a dietician. She provided medical nutrition therapy and meal planning to the individuals living in the facility, by helping them with daily eating to sustain their quality of life.

In addition to her parents, Lynnidia was preceded in death by her son Newmas Eugene Thornton, her sister Jolene Harper, and her brother Leonard Johnson Thornton.

Ms. Lynnidia Gale Thornton leaves to cherish her memories with her two daughters Pastor Dr. Unique Hale of Reidsville, North Carolina, and Gale Frenette Thornton of Greensboro, North Carolina; her son Franky Jermaine Thornton of Greensboro, North Carolina; her sister Helen Thornton of Charlotte, North Carolina; her seven grandchildren; and a host other loving relatives, and many cherished friends.

A Public viewing for Ms. Lynnidia Gale Thornton will be on Saturday, July 25, 2026; from 2:00p.m. to 6:00p.m. at Fulton-Walton Funeral Home & Memorial Chapel of Eden; 417 Price Street, Eden, NC.

Funeral Services for Ms. Lynnidia Gale Thornton will be conducted at 3:00pm on Sunday, July 26, 2026; at Fulton-Walton Funeral Home & Memorial Chapel of Eden; 417 Price Street, Eden, NC

Interment will follow at Hamlin Cemetery in Eden, North Carolina.
