Ruffin, NC - It is with profound sorrow that we announce the death of Ms. Nancy Lorraine Watlington Totten of 10942 US Highway 158 West, Ruffin, NC. She passed away on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at her residence.
Nancy, the beloved daughter of the late John Williamson, Jr. and Alice Watlington Totten, was born on December 16, 1949. As a native and lifelong resident of Caswell County, North Carolina, she attended and graduated from the local public schools.
Shortly afterwards, Nancy married the late William Lester Totten and began employment at Burlington Industries. She took her job seriously and was proud to make production, where she sewed every seam. Nancy later furthered her employment at Drapery Creighton Fabrics in Reidsville NC until her retirement. She had sewed so much she declared that she would never look at a sewing machine again.
She was a member of Red Hill Missionary Baptist Church; where she grew in faith, which also increased her prayer life in God.
Nancy did not believe in worrying about anything and just enjoying life to the fullest, which included lying in bed until she wanted to get up, watching late night movies, dancing and spending quality time with God. After the passing of her husband, she met William L. Graves and later had Kwanna T. Byrd. Nancy’s favorite pastimes were being around family, watching her grandchildren and helped raise her nephew, De’Vonte Siddle, helping others in the community, including having community parties, having and shopping for a Children Home providing for their needs.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Nancy was preceded in death by her beloved sister, Erma Lee Henderson, they were called "Salt and Pepper" whom she still grieved, but now they are back together again.
Ms. Nancy Lorraine Watlington Totten leaves to cherish her memories with her son, Spencer B. Totten and his family, wife Sasha and children Tionne and Aleise all of Arizona; her daughter, Kwanna T.
