Durham, NC - It is with profound sorrow that we announce the death of Ms. Phyllis Abbott of 6709 Winding Arch Drive, in Durham, North Carolina. She passed away on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at UNC Hospice House in Pittsboro, North Carolina.

She was a native of Rockingham County, North Carolina, and was the beloved daughter of the late Willie Wright and Cornelia Abbott, born on October 04, 1957. Phyllis was of the Baptist faith, and she attended Bluestone Missionary Baptist Church before moving to Durham, North Carolina.

Ms. Phyllis Abbott leaves to cherish her memories with her sister Avis Keen of Durham, North Carolina; her two nieces Ashley Keen, and Aliyah Keen all of Durham, North Carolina; a great niece Alivia Keen of Durham, North Carolina; her aunt Virginia Sobers of Greensboro, North Carolina; her uncle Walter Abbott of Portsmouth, Virginia; and a host of cousins; and cherished friends.

A public viewing for Ms. Phyllis Abbott will be on Friday, July 24, 2026 ; from 3:00p.m. to 6:00p.m. in the Fulton-Walton Funeral Home & Memorial Chapel of Eden, 417 Price Street, Eden, NC.

A Family Visitation for Ms. Phyllis Abbott will be on Saturday, July 25, 2026, from 3:00pm to 3:30pm at Bluestone Missionary Baptist Church in Pelham, NC.

Funeral services for Ms. Phyllis A. Abbott will be on Saturday, July 24, 2026; at 3:30p.m. at Bluestone Missionary Baptist Church, in Pelham, NC. Reverend John B. Doe will deliver the “Words of Comfort” and Pastor Hamid Kamara will Preside.
