Ms. Sherri Lynette Long

Reidsville, NC - It is with profound sorrow that we announce the death of Ms. Sherri Lynette Long, age 54, of 814 Lawndale Drive, Reidsville, North Carolina. She closed her eyes and peacefully went to meet with her Lord & Savior on May 19, 2025, from her residence.

Sherri was born on November 23, 1970, in Martinsville, Virginia to Shirley Ann Culley, where she attended elementary and middle school. She graduated from Elkin High School in Elkin, NC in 1988 and Fayetteville State University in 1993 with a B.S. in Criminal Justice.

She served in the criminal justice field for many years until her health no longer permitted her to be active, then Sherri retired from Danville City Farm in 2019. Sherri loved the Lord and was a member of Jones Cross Road Missionary Baptist Church for many years. She would often say “God gives the toughest battles to his strongest soldiers” and Sherri fought until the end.

Those left to cherish wonderful memories of Ms. Sherri Lynette Long are her two sons, Raekwon Clark (Nyria Barham) and Jamar McDonald; her parents, Rev. Harrison and Shirley Culley; her eldest sister, Carol Clark; her eldest brother, George Clark (Tricia); her twin sister, Terri Beulah (Craig); and her youngest brother, Sherrard Culley (Tricia). She also leaves her brothers and sisters in love Timmy, Harrison Jr., Barry, Priscilla, and Aemetrius Culley as well as a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, her special friend, Charles Clauden, and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband James Edward Long Jr.

A Public viewing for Ms. Sherri Lynette Long will be on Saturday, May 24, 2025; from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the John and Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral Home.

A Family visitation viewing for Ms. Sherri Lynette Long will be on Sunday, May 25, 2025, from 1:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Jones Cross Road Missionary Baptist Church, in Reidsville, NC.

Funeral Services for Ms. Sherri Lynette Long will be conducted at 2:00pm on Sunday, May 25, 2025, at Jones Cross Road Missionary Baptist Church, in Reidsville, NC.

Interment will follow at Jones Cross Road Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Reidsville, NC.
