Reidsville, NC - It is with profound sorrow we announce the death of Mrs. Myria Constance Poteat Unthank age 58, of 183 NC Hwy 87. Reidsville, NC, who passed away Saturday, October 9, 2021 at her residence.

Constance, the daughter of the late Isaiah Bernard Poteat and Thelma McGhee Poteat was born in Person County, North Carolina, on November 16, 1962.

Constance attended the Caswell County Public School Systems in Yanceyville, North Carolina.

Constance was a faithful member of Zion’s Gates Apostolic Church in Yanceyville, North Carolina.

Constance was caring, full of joy, and ready to help whenever she was needed; even as a Caregiver, who had worked at multiple facilities throughout the years. 

Constance was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Her favorite pastimes were arts & crafts, gardening, and spending time with family.

In addition to her parents Constance was preceded in death by her sister, Sheenna Johnson; and her stepson, Donald Henderson, Jr.

Mrs. Myria Constance Poteat Unthank, leaves to cherish her memory to her husband, Alonzo Unthank, one daughter, Tiffany Henderson of Graham, North Carolina; one son, Nicholas Henderson (Twauna) of Yanceyville, North Carolina; one sister, Carol Serina Jeffries (Gerald) of Reidsville, North Carolina; seven grandchildren, Tamiaya Stanley (Nick), Ny’Leke Henderson, Nicholas (NJ) Henderson, Ivree Henderson, and Iniecy Henderson; two step-grandchildren, JaNessa Stewart, and Joshua Stewart; a devoted cousin, Kate McGhee; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.

A viewing will be Wednesday, October 13, 2021 from 4 to 7 pm in the Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral Home (FACIAL MASKS ARE REQUIRED).

Funeral Services for Mrs. Myria Constance Poteat Unthank will be Thursday, October 14, 2021, at 2:00 pm in the Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral Home. Reverend Paul Robinson, Sr. will deliver the words of comfort. (FACIAL MASKS ARE REQUIRED).
