Cary, NC - It is with profound sorrow we announce the death of Mrs. Nancy Wenstley, 77, of 501 West High Street, in Cary, North Carolina (formerly of Alton, Virginia), transitioned from this life on Friday, June 18, 2021 at the Cary Health & Rehabilitation Senior Living Facility, in Cary, North Carolina.
Mrs. Nancy was the daughter of the late Leatha Norman McClease born on August 24, 1944, in Columbus, North Carolina.
Mrs. Nancy attended Tyrrell County public school systems in North Carolina, and she went to one of the prestigious colleges in Norfolk, Virginia. She loved people and was a Certified Nursing Assistant.
Mrs. Nancy loved the Lord with all her heart, and she answered her call as an Ordained Minister. Mrs. Nancy married Reverend Harold J. Wenstley and she became first lady at Jubilant Pentecostal Church in Brooklyn, New York, New Haven Baptist Church in Milton, North Carolina, and Chestnut Grove Baptist Church, in Semora, North Carolina, where her husband pastored. Her favorite past-times were spending time with her family (especially her grandchildren), cooking, and gardening.
In addition to her mother, Mrs. Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Reverend Harold J. Wenstley and one son, Royal Wenstley.
Mrs. Nancy Jane McClease Wenstley leaves her cherished memories to her one daughter, Jean Kyser Lemon of Buffalo, New York; two sons, Seneca Wenstley (Teresa Pleasant) of Timberlake, North Carolina, and Ephrain Wenstley (Angela Richardson) of Raleigh, North Carolina; one brother, Anthony Tucker of Norfolk, Virginia; eight grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Due to the constraints of public gatherings during the COVID-19 outbreak a viewing will be Thursday, June 24, 2021 from 4:00 to 7:00PM in the Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral Home with a limit of 10 people at a time.
