Eden, NC - It is with profound sorrow that we announce the death of Mr. Otis Monroe Watt Jr. of 620 Taylor Street, Eden, North Carolina. He passed away on Sunday, March 10, 2024; at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro, North Carolina.
Otis was born July 24, 1953, in Rockingham County, North Carolina to the late Otis Monroe Watt, Sr., and Gwendolyn Scales Watt.
He was a member of Monument of Faith Ministries in Eden, NC. Otis also worked in the textile industry before his retirement.
Otis leaves to cherish his memories to his: two sons: Michael Aiken (Amy) of North Port, Florida, and Jeffery Williams of Georgia; one daughter: Misty Watt-Penn (Jacob) of Liberty, North Carolina; three brothers: Ronnie Broadnax of West Virginia, Kenneth Lee Watt of Eden, North Carolina, and Anthony Watt (Tonya) of Greensboro, North Carolina. One sister: Margarete Martin of Eden, North Carolina. Nine grandchildren: Tyrrell Watt of Liberty, North Carolina, Quinton Aiken of Reidsville, North Carolina, Patrick Harrison ( Janie) of Liberty, North Carolina, Jordan Watt of Asheboro, North Carolina, Jazmine Aiken of North Port, Florida, Jacob Penn III of North Dakota, Devin Penn (Kayla) of Asheboro, North Carolina, Desteni Penn of North Dakota, and Savannah Walker of North Port, Florida; twelve great-grandchildren; former wives: Mary Hairston and Delna Jean Watt; a host of other relatives; and friends.
A viewing for Mr. Otis Monroe Watt Jr. will be on Thursday, March 14, 2024, from 2 pm to 7 pm in the Fulton-Walton Memorial Chapel; 417 Price Street, Eden, NC.
Funeral service for Mr. Otis Monroe Watt Jr. will be conducted on Friday, March 15, 2024, at 2:00 pm at Monument of Faith Ministries with family visitation beginning at 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm.
Interment will follow in the Hairston Cemetery on Shady Grove Road, in Eden, NC.
