Pamela Slade Douglas

Yanceyville, NC –  It is with profound sorrow we announce the death of Mrs.  Pamela Sherrell Slade Douglas, 59, of 4458 Hwy 158 W. who  passed away on Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at her residence.

 She was born June 17, 1962 to Lillian Ossie Dean Cobb and the late John “Skip” Roosevelt Slade, Sr.  

Pam was a graduate of Bartlett Yancey High School’s Class of 1980 and attended Rockingham Community College and she was a member of Blackwell Missionary Baptist Church.  She was an employee of  GKN Driveline in Mebane, North Carolina,

She was married to the late Edgar Allen Douglas for 32 years. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her father, John Roosevelt Slade, Sr.; stepfather, Willie Cobb; and four canine companions, Peedy, Woody, Bashful, and Shorty.

Left to cherish her memories are her mother, Lillian Ossie Dean Cobb, and special canine companion, Trixie, of the home; brother Dr. John Roosevelt Slade, Jr. (Pamela) of  Winston Salem, North Carolina; nephew, Jon Christopher Slade of Charlotte, North Carolina; godson, Byron Southern of Burlington, North Carolina; a special uncle and aunt, Thomas and Kaylene Linster of Yanceyville; caretakers and cousins, Krystal “Shelly Bean” Wiley of Yanceyville and Phyllis Graves of North Beach, Maryland; aunts Bessie Graves (James) of Yanceyville, Lois Lea (Emmanuel) of Mebane, and Elsie Price of Yanceyville; special friend/sister, Vanessa L. Edwards; special friends, Ishmael Sesay and Hope Farmer; daughter from the heart, Ashleigh Rogers;  brothers-in-law, Nebraska Douglas (Robbie) and Steve McKinnon (Liz); and a host of other family and friends.

A viewing will be Saturday, April 30, 2022 from 2 to 7 pm in the John & Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral Home.

Funeral Service for Mrs. Pamela Sherrell Slade Douglas will be Sunday, May 1, 2022 2:00 PM at Blackwell Missionary Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
