Blanch, NC - Mr. Antonia Paul Watlington “Sweet Potato,” affectionately known to his wife transitioned into eternal rest on Thursday, March 25, 2021 in Ruffin, NC, was born in Danville, VA to the late Jane Viola Barnett Watlington and the late Thomas Watlington. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Thomas Gregory Watlington.
Mr. Antonia Paul Watlington accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior, where he attended Mineral Springs Baptist Church, Pelham, NC and was a worker for the Brian Health Care Center in Yanceyville, NC.
Mr. Antonia Paul Watlington loved basketball and football with his favorite teams UNC Tar Heels and Dallas Cowboys. He also loved to fish and hunt until his health declined. He loved to watch movies, listen to music, and never met a stranger because he loved to talk; he will truly be missed.
Mr. Antonia Paul Watlington leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Melisa Thaxton Watlington of the residence; grandmother, Pauline Barnett of Reidsville, NC; his children, Kianna, Diamond, Princess, Shaya, Arriyonna, La’Keshia, Mauqueeda (Jamaine), and Leondre; one grandchild, Jamaine King, Jr., whom he affectionally called “Poom”; three sisters, Natalie Gail Walters, Bridget Farmer, and Loressa Lipford; two brothers, Jeffrey Watlington and Jackie King; special mother-in-law and father-in-law, Betty and George Thaxton; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
Due to the constraints of public gatherings during the COVID-19 outbreak a viewing will be Friday, April 2, 2021, from 4 to 8 p. m. in the Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral Home with a limit of 10 people at a time.
Funeral Services for Mr. Antonia Paul Watlington will be Saturday, April 3, 2021, at 1:00 PM in the Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Mineral Springs Baptist Church Cemetery, Pelham, NC. (Per CDC Guidelines: Facial Masks are required).
