Raphael Ephraim "Ray" Brown

Burlington, NC - Mr. Raphael Ephraim "Ray" Brown 69, of 1469 Dixon Lane Burlington, NC, passed away Sunday, June 4, 2023, in the Cone Health Alamance Regional Hospital Burlington, NC.

He was the son of the late James Brown and Chattie Graves Brown, born October 15, 1953, in Washington, DC and graduated from Spingarn High School and received a degree from the University of District of Columbia. He attended " The Upper Room Baptist Church" in the DC area.

Ray as he was called by many, relocated to Burlington, NC, where he continued his Christian path at Glen Raven First Baptist Church.

He was employed by The US Treasury Department as an engineer in Washington for 19 years. After relocating to Burlington, NC he worked at Meredith Webb Printing Company until his health declined.

Ray loved his family and would often reminisce about family gatherings such as holiday events, church homecomings, cookouts, family reunions etc. He showed so much enthusiasm when he spoke of family or when he would see a relative or friend. During his leisure time he enjoyed watching sports, especially the "Carolina Panthers".

His memory will be cherished by his daughter, Dwyann (Shelly) Lambert of Rockville, MD; five grandchildren, Deon Lambert, Delon Lambert, Torrance Dubose, Terjuan Dubose, Torrez Dubose; aunts, Evelyn Totten of Washington, DC., Eleanor Risher of Baltimore, MD; uncles, Henry Graves (Gwen) and Hubert Fuller of Yanceyville, NC; a host of other relatives and friends.

A viewing for Mr. Raphael Ephraim "Ray" Brown will be Friday, June 9, 2023; from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM; in the John and Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral Home.
