Danville, VA - It is with profound sorrow we announce the death of Mr. Rawleigh "Star" Cobbs formerly of Danville, Virginia, who passed away Tuesday, July 13, 2021 in the SOVAH Health in Danville, Virginia.
He was born March 22, 1947 in Pittsylvania County, Virginia to the late Henry Cobbs and Hester Dodson Cobbs.
Star as he was called by many, was a member of Pleasant Chapel Baptist Church in Sutherlin, Virginia.
In addition to his parents, Star was preceded in death by his sister Mildred Talley, and his brother, Henry Cobbs, Jr.
Mr. Rawleigh “Star” Cobbs, leaves to cherish his memories to one sister, Maxine Cobbs; three brothers, Willie “Buck” Cobbs, George Dodson, and Leonard Dodson all of New Bern, New York; a special cousin, Nancy Fallen of Goldsboro, North Carolina; devoted cousins, Mary Jennings of Milton, North Carolina, Pastor Dr. Angel Lea (Donald Jr.) of Milton, North Carolina, Darius Jennings; James Jennings, Keith Richardson (Markita) of Ringgold, Virginia, Mattie Cabiness, and Ms. Geraldine Reynolds both of Danville, Virginia; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A viewing will be Friday, July 16, 2021 from 4 to 7 p. m. in the Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral Home.

Funeral Services for Mr. Rawleigh "Star" Cobbs will be Saturday, July 17, 2021, 3:00 pm at Pleasant Chapel Baptist Church with Pastor Jonathan King delivering the words of comfort. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. (Per CDC Guidelines Facial Mask are required).
The family may receive family and friends at the residence of Donald and Pastor Angel Lea 1008 Dotmond Rd. Milton, North Carolina (Facial Masks are required).
