Rosa Lee Hairston Keen

Axton, VA. - It is with profound sorrow we announce the death of Ms. Rosa Lee Hairston Keen of 85 Scales Rd. Axton, Virginia, who passed away Wednesday, October 13, 2021, at Morehead Memorial Hospital UNC in Eden, North Carolina.

Ms. Rosa was born on March 04, 1944 in Pittsylvania County, Virginia to the late Herbert H. Hairston and Roszell Wilson Hairston.

Ms. Rosa was a woman of the Christian faith, and she joined Ephesus Primitive Baptist Church in Axton, Virginia.

Ms. Rosa was the pilar of her family and she will be deeply missed. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her family, especially with her grandchildren that she loved dearly.

In addition to her parents, Ms. Rosa was preceded in death by her husband, McKinley Keen; one son, Macnicious “Mac” Hairston, who passed away Saturday, October 9, 2021; two brothers, Clarence Irvin Hairston, and Derrick Lorenzo Hairston.

Ms. Rosa Lee Hairston Keen leaves to cherish her memories to her children, Courtney Hairston of Eden, North Carolina, Sharon Hairston (Timothy Medley) of Martinsville, Virginia, Anthony Hairston of Texas, Alfonza Keen of Axton, Virginia, and Telly Keen of Axton, Virginia; four sisters, Mary Inge of Danville, Virginia, Doris Keen (Elder Walter) of Ridgeway, Virginia, Ola Tarpley (Kenneth) of Axton, Virginia, and Barbara Dillard (Donald) of Reidsville, North Carolina; three brothers, Herbert Hairston, Burnell Hairston, and James Andrew Hairston (Patsy) all of Danville, Virginia; ten grandchildren; one great granddaughter; one great grandson; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

A viewing will be Friday, October 15, 2021 from 4 to 7 pm in the Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral Home and viewing Saturday, October 16, 2021 from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. in the Parking Lot of St John Baptist Church, Axton, VA.  (FACIAL MASKS ARE REQUIRED).

Funeral service for Ms. Rosa Lee Hairston Keen will be Saturday, October 16, 2021, 1:00 PM in the Parking Lot of St. John Baptist Church, Axton, VA.  Elder Rodney Keen delivering the eulogy. Interment will follow in the Valentine Family Cemetery in Axton, VA.  (FACIAL MASKS ARE REQUIRED).
