Greensboro, NC - It is with profound sorrow that we announce the death of Mr. Roy Evans Sr. 83, of 1607 Britton Street, Greensboro, North Carolina, who died Saturday, January 16, 2021 in the Hospice of the Piedmont in High Point, North Carlina.
Mr. Roy Evans was a native of Caswell County, North Carolina born on October 6, 1937 to the late Weldon Evans and Annie Bell Walker Evans.
Mr. Roy Evans was a member of Providence Baptist Church. He was an employee of Greensboro College before retirement.
Mr. Roy Evans was preceded in death by two sisters, Barbara Daniel and Ida Hightower; five brothers, Raymond Evans, Sr., Herman Evans, Hunter Evans, Cornelius Evans, and Edgar Evans.
Mr. Roy Evans leaves to cherish his beloved memories to his two daughters, Jennifer Evans of Greensboro, North Carolina and Dr. Martha Evans of High Point, North Carolina; two sons, Roy Evans, Jr. (Kelly) of Raleigh, North Carolina and Aaron Evans (Rebekah) of Youngstown, Ohio; one sister, Pearl Johnson of Burlington, North Carolina; 12 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; former wife, Virginia Paylor of Yanceyville, North Carolina; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Due to the constraints of public gatherings during the COVID-19 outbreak a viewing will be Thursday, January 21, 2021 from 2 to 7 p.m. in the Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral Home with a limit of 10 people at a time. (Per CDC Guidelines: Facial Masks are required).
Graveside Service for Mr. Roy Evans will be Friday, January 22, 2021 2:00 pm in the Providence Baptist Church Cemetery. Pastor Reginald Coleman will deliver the words of comfort.
