Sarah McClain Turner

Yanceyville, NC - It is with profound sorrow that we announce the death of Mrs. Sara McClain Turner who departed this life for her heavenly home on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at her residence in Yanceyville, North Carolina.

Mrs. Sarah McClain Turner was the daughter of the late John McClain and Sarah McCadden McClain, who was born October 12, 1942 in Vance County, North Carolina.  

Sarah graduated from Caswell County High School in Yanceyville, North Carolina. Sarah was a faithful member of Yanceyville Missionary Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Usher board, the Kitchen Committee and a member of the Senior Choir.

Sarah was a Cafeteria employee for the Caswell County School Systems prior to retirement. She was a married to the late George Winston Turner III. Sarah’s favorite pastime was spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Sarah was preceded in death by one daughter, Mary Elain Long Love; one son, James Alexander Long; and one brother, Abraham McClain.

Unfortunately Sarah’s beloved son, John Willie Long, Jr. of the residence passed away on March 21, 2021 following his mother’s death.

Mrs. Sarah McClain Turner leaves to cherish her precious memories to one sister, Betty M. Taylor of Blanch, North Carolina; and her grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends.

Due to the constraints of public gatherings during the COVID-19 outbreak a viewing will be Monday, March 22, 2021 from 4 to 7 p. m. in the Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral Home with a limit of 10 people at a time.

Funeral Services for Sarah McClain Turner will be Tuesday, March 23, 2021, 2:00 p.m. in the Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Yanceyville Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, Yanceyville, North Carolina.

*Attendance at the funeral will be limited to fifty (50) individuals and attendees will be pre-determined by the family*.
