Milton NC - It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Mr. Tony Lee Thaxton age 56, of 10423 NC HWY 62 North, Milton, North Carolina, who died Sunday, January 10, 2021 at the Brian Center Health & Rehabilitation Nursing Home in Yanceyville, North Carolina.

Tony was born on August 23,1964 to Mary Lipscomb Thaxton and the late Joe L. Thaxton, Jr. in Halifax County, Virginia.

Tony attended Bartlett Yancey Senior High School and then he joined the United States Army. Tony started his career as a Machine Operator with Georgia Pacific Company before he became disabled. He also became a member of High Street Baptist Church in Milton, North Carolina.

Mr. Tony Lee Thaxton leaves to cherish his memories to his beloved mother, Mary Lipscomb Thaxton of Milton, North Carolina; one son, Antoine Thaxton of Augusta, Georgia; two daughters, Davita Thaxton Coles of Danville, Virginia and Tatyanna Thaxton of Kentucky; one step-daughter, Cynita Worthington; 3 grandchildren; two sisters, Ethel Mae Thaxton of Milton, North Carolina, and Pamara Annette Lea (Joseph) of Milton, North Carolina; a host of other relatives, and cherished friends.

Due to the constraints of public gatherings during the COVID-19 outbreak a viewing will be Wednesday, January 13, 2021 from 2 to7 p.m. in the Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral Home with a limit of 10 people at a time. (Per CDC Guidelines:  Facial Masks are required).

Funeral Services for Mr. Tony Lee Thaxton will be Thursday, January 14, 2021 1:00 pm. with Pastor, Dr Angela Lea from High Street Baptist Church will deliver the words of comfort in the Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral Home.

*Attendance at the funeral service will be limited to fifty (50) individuals and attendees will be pre-determined by the family*.
