Vernoise Scales Sr.

Axton, VA. - It is with profound sorrow that we announce the death of Mr. Vernoise Scales Sr. 64, of 216 Mars Dr. Axton, VA., who passed away on Wednesday, July 5, 2023, at his residence.

He was the son of the late George Edward Scales Sr and Verla Dillard Scales born September 30, 1958, in Henry County, VA. He worked as a Machine Operator at AC Furniture for 38 years before his health declined.

In addition, his parents he was preceded in death by; three brothers; Ophus Dillard, George Edward Scales Jr., and William Thomas Scales. two sisters; Mary L. Scales and Sharlene Scales

Vernoise leaves to cherish his memories one son; Vernoise Scales Jr. of Martinsville, VA one daughter; Martika Scales of Axton, VA two grandchildren; Thomas A. Hairston III and Tikyah V. Hairston, he was married to Arlene Scales of Martinsville, VA mother-in-law Hazel Jeffries of Cascade, VA two brothers: Henry Dillard (Shirdene) of Eden, Nc Fabian Scales (Shanna) of Eden, NC sister-in-law Kathryn Dillard of Axton, VA. nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

A viewing will be Monday July 10,2023, from 2 PM to 7 PM in the chapel of Fulton-Walton Memorial Chapel 417 Price St. Eden, NC.

Funeral Services for Mr. Vernoise Scales Sr. will be Tuesday July 11,2023 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Fulton-Walton Memorial Chapel Eden, NC. Pastor Otis Dillard of Countyline Baptist Church, Java, VA.  will deliver the words of comfort.
