Eden, NC - It is with profound sorrow that we announce the death of Mr. Wash Lee Keen of 234 Lenoir St. Eden, NC, who passed on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, in the Moses Cone Memorial Hospital, Greensboro, NC.
Wash was born November 17, 1946, in Axton, VA. to the late Robert Lee Hairston and Lois Inez Keen.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Broadnax Keen; two sisters, Linda Millner, and Jesteen Dickerson, and one brother, Leonard Keen.
Mr. Wash Lee Keen leaves to cherish his memories to his; one son; Paul Keen (Tomeca) of Concord, one fur baby; Duke Keen of Eden, NC, two daughters; Lori Hairston (Michael) of Eden, NC, and Casandra Keen (Ike) of Eden, NC, six grandkids; Antwon (Antoinette), Joshua, Tyler (Ashley), Kwes, Brent, and Lakia. Ten great-grandkids; Kwes Jr. (Maria), Rueben Omar (Lakia), Lakenzo (Lakia), Kashius (Nikki L.), Jalen (Antoinette), Janel (Antoinette), Jalah (Antoinette), Malaya (Ebony), Tamaya Lynn (Ashley), Ziya (Natia), and his very own angel baby in Heaven Tylon (Ebony) three brothers; Bernard Willams, Robert Williams and Jason Thomas all of Philadelphia, Pa. nine sisters; Gwendolyn Williams, Shirley Williams, Kimble Hairston, Annette Freeman, and Joyce Newton, all of Philadelphia, Pa., Charlotte Gaddy of Charlotte, NC, Precilla Hughes of Rocky Mt., NC, Cheryl Harden of Minnesota, and Belinda Broadnax of Eden, NC (Belinda was his sister, best friend, and riding partner. Thank-you for all you have done); special friends, Charles Broadnax, Johnny Neal, Clee Tinsley, Joe Keen, and Robert Keen; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Public viewing will be on Tuesday, March 19, 2024; from 2 PM to 7 PM at Fulton-Walton Memorial Eden Chapel; 417 Price Street, Eden, NC 27288.
Family visitation for Mr. Wash Lee Keen will be on Wednesday, March 20, 2024; from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM at Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church.
Funeral services for Mr. Wash Lee Keen will be conducted on Wednesday, March 20, 2024; at 2 PM at Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church; 607 Stanton Street, Eden, NC
Interment will follow at Hamlin Cemetery; 647 Creek Ridge Drive, in Eden, NC 27288.
