Waynetta McGhee Smith

Yanceyville, NC - It is with profound sorrow we announce the death of Mrs. Waynetta McGhee Smith 45, of Hwy 158 W. Yanceyville, NC, who passed away Monday, March 29, 2021 in the Sovah Health in Danville, VA.

She was born October 4, 1975 in Roxboro, NC and was the daughter of the late Wayne McGhee and Lucy Blackwell, who survives.  She married Derrick Smith, who survives.

Mrs. Waynetta McGhee Smith was a member of New Thing Christian Center where she held her office of church secretary. She also was a CNA for Bayada Home Heath Care, Premier Home Health Care and she was a employee of the Caswell County School System.

Mrs. Waynetta McGhee Smith leaves to cherish precious memories  her husband, Derrick Smith of the residence; three daughters, Jo’ney Smith, Jadah Smith and Destiny Smith all of the residence; one son, Kendric Randolph of Yanceyville, NC; mother, Lucy Blackwell of  Yanceyville, NC;  three sisters, April Tanner and Keesha McGhee both of Yanceyville, NC and Katina Smith of Danville, VA; four brothers, Anthony McGhee (Nicole) of Yanceyville, NC,  Sherman Poteat of Chapel Hill, NC, Eric Jones and Gregory Jones, both of Graham, NC;  mother-in-law and father-in-law, Apostle Brenda Smith and Elder John Smith of Milton, NC; special aunts, Rita McGhee of Leasburg, NC Jeanette Chavis (George) of Woodbridge, VA , Flossie Hayes of Yanceyville, NC, Gracie Oliver of Danville, VA. and Edith Hughes of Semora, NC; special uncles, Cornelius McGhee of Leasburg, NC and  Berkley Blackwell Jr. of Burlington, NC: one sister-in-law, Shernitha S. Madkins (William) of Semora, NC; best friends, Latosha Graves,  Melissa Leopold,  Chevette Madden and Felicia Cunningham; and a host of aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.

Due to the constraints of public gatherings during the COVID-19 outbreak a viewing will be Tuesday, April 6, 2021 from 2:00 to 7:00PM in the Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral Home with a limit of 10 people at a time.

(Per CDC Guidelines: Facial Masks are required).

Graveside Services for Mrs. Waynetta McGhee Smith will be Wednesday, April 7, 2021, 2:00PM in the Macedonia A.M.E Church Cemetery. Pastor Alfred Randolph of New Thing Christian Center will deliver the words of comfort.  Interment will follow in the Macedonia A.M.E. Church Cemetery.  (Per CDC Guidelines Facial Mask are required).
