Mebane, NC - It is with profound sorrow that we announce the death of Mr. Winfred Evans, 67, of 5859 Burton Chapel Road, Mebane, NC; who passed away on Thursday, November 9, 2023; at his residence. Winfred, the son of the late Charlie Hightower and Ida Evans Hightower, was born on February 27, 1956, in Caswell County, North Carolina.
He attended the Caswell County public school system and joined Providence Missionary Baptist Church at an early age. Winfred was a former textile worker for Culp Upholstery Fabrics and a dietary aide at White Oak Manor in Burlington, North Carolina.
Mr. Winfred Evans leaves to cherish his memories to his wife, Linda Bigelow Evans of the home; one daughter, Kashena Evans Paschal (Chad) of Burlington, NC; three sisters, Brenda Jones, and Linda Hightower, both of Yanceyville, NC, and Sharon Hightower of Burlington, NC; two brothers, Charles Hightower (Joyce) of Yanceyville, NC, and Ronald Hightower of Mebane, NC; uncle, Shirley Miles; two sisters, Pattie Moore, and Mary Miles; three brothers, Clyde Miles, David Miles, and Clay Miles (Gladys); three grandchildren, Marquise Evans of Dallas, TX, Aliyah Evans of Mebane, NC, and Jamiah Paschal of Burlington, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, other loving relatives, and many cherished friends.
Public viewing for Mr. Winfred Evans will be Sunday, November 12, 2023; from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the John and Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral Home.
Family visitation for Mr. Winfred Evans will be Monday, November 13, 2023; from 11:30a.m. to 12 p.m. in the John and Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral Home.
Funeral services for Mr. Winfred Evans will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, November 13, 2023, in the John and Juanita S. Fulton Memorial Chapel of Fulton-Walton Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Burton's Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery.
